Set on a quiet country property, Joyful Acres offers a clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed environment where every dog receives personalized, one-on-one care. Our approach focuses on calm routines, outdoor access, and meaningful interaction. We’re proud to have been recognized as “Best Pet Kennel” in the Best of Salem County awards from 2009–2025, and we’re grateful to the families who have trusted us with their dogs over the years. Joyful Acres is owned and operated by the Bell Family, who live on-site and are actively involved in the management of the kennel. Being present allows us to maintain a consistent, attentive environment and get to know our clients. Under the Bells’ ownership since 2016, Joyful Acres continues to grow and evolve, with ongoing improvements designed to enhance comfort, enrichment, and overall care. We offer 65 indoor-outdoor runs, each with solid side dividers to create a quiet, secure space where dogs can relax without unnecessary stress or overstimulation. Every run includes access to a covered outdoor patio, allowing dogs to enjoy fresh air throughout the day when weather permits. Our standard accommodations are consistent in size and comfort, with oversized run options available for families or dogs who benefit from additional space. Dogs from the same household can often be housed together, supporting both comfort and companionship. Inside, the kennel is climate-controlled with radiant floor heating in the winter and air conditioning in the summer, ensuring a comfortable environment year-round. For activity and additional outdoor time, we also offer access to a large fenced play area, ideal for one-on-one play sessions or for dogs who prefer a grassy space, as well as wooded and meadow trails for walks.
