At Joyful Acres, our facility is designed to provide a comfortable, secure, and low-stress environment where dogs can relax and feel at home.

The kennel building is climate-controlled with radiant floor heating in the winter and air conditioning in the summer, ensuring year-round comfort. Each dog or family has a private indoor space connected to a covered outdoor run, allowing for both rest and fresh air throughout the day.

Our team manages access between indoor and outdoor areas, with regular potty opportunities, cleaning, and downtime built into each dog’s routine. When weather permits, patio doors may remain open, giving dogs the freedom to move between spaces at their own pace.

For added peace of mind, the owners live on-site, and the facility is equipped with monitored security and fire systems.

Our facility includes:

• 55 standard indoor-outdoor runs
  Each features a 4’x6’ indoor space and a 4’x8’ covered outdoor run. Solid vinyl dividers between runs help reduce stress, minimize noise, and create a more restful environment. 
• 6 oversized indoor-outdoor runs
  Larger, flexible spaces ideal for multiple-dog families or larger breeds. 
• 2 condo-style runs
  Our largest accommodations, offering approximately 8’x12’ indoor and outdoor space—perfect for families or dogs who benefit from extra room. 
• Large fenced grassy play area (100’x30’)
  Used for one-on-one play sessions and for dogs who prefer a natural surface. 
• Woodland walking trails
  Including Camp Loop, Whispering Grove Path, and Woodland Explorer Trail, offering opportunities for both short walks and longer, more immersive outings. 
• Two bathing areas
  A traditional tub for most dogs and a walk-in shower for large and giant breeds. 
• Isolation area
  A separate space for temporarily holding a dog showing signs of illness while arrangements are made with owners or veterinarians. 
• Additional holding pens (5’x6’)
  Used during busy transitions to ensure smooth check-in and check-out while maintaining comfort and safety.

We’re currently enhancing our facility to expand enrichment and activity options, including:

• Indoor play spaces designed for one-on-one interaction in a structured environment 
• A dedicated Scent Garden for calm, sensory enrichment and exploration 
• An updated courtyard play area with a relaxed, backyard-inspired setting 

These additions will allow us to offer even more personalized, engaging experiences while maintaining the calm, controlled environment we’re known for.
